FALL 2011 USC Food Truck Wars: Interfraternity Council VS Panhellenic Council Benefitting Troy Camp USC Troy Camp is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization and USC’s oldest, largest, and most diverse philanthropy. We work with 230 children from 17 local elementary schools located within a 2-mile radius of USC. Sept 24: The NoHo Taco Cooking Competition
The NoHo Taco Cooking Competition is coming to Sears North Hollywood on Saturday, September 24th.
Join us for this fun, festive event, featuring 20 local contestants competing for prizes and the title of “The NoHo Taco Cook-off champ”. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to “The Forgotten Dogs”, a local dog rescue organization.
Participating will be:
Over 20 gourmet food trucks
Local musicians
Hula hoop performances
Art & crafts
Piñatas breakings
Dog adoptions and much much more
Raffle Prizes will be hourly and brought to you by The Sears North Hollywood Store.
Tickets are $4.00 online, $5.00 at the gate.

Food trucks at Cal State University, Fullerton
The food truck phenomenon has become a starving student's best friend, and the universities are listening to the students by bringing the trucks on campus.
California State University, Fullerton announced they will be hosting trucks every day at the Humanities Plaza, located by the Humanities and Social Science buildings.
The main resident trucks are Spudrunners and Barcelona on the Go, and there will be a rotation of other OC trucks throughout the school year.

Sept 25: Abbot Kinney Festival
On Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Venice is putting on a free festival to showcase the artsy neighborhood's talent and creativity. 
Spanning from Main Street to Venice Boulevard, food trucks including Baby's Badass Burgers, Border Grill Truck, The Dim Sum Truck, Knockout Taco Truck, Dogtown Dogs, South Philly Experience and Cool Haus, and beer gardens from The Brig, Stella Artois and Widmer Brothers Brewing will fill up Abbot Kinney Boulevard.
The music lineup looks good too, with performances by Thundercat, Dumbfoundead and Mia Doi Todd, among others.

Dos-Lime: a special pop up event with Jason Quinn & Hop Phan
On September 19, 2011, Hop Phan from Dos Chinos and Jason Quinn from the Lime Truck joined forces to have a special "pop up" restaurant at the Shark Club. There were 2 seatings (6:00 pm and 9:00 pm) and each seating was limited to 100 people. The food was served "family style" and there were 6 courses for $50. Diners had the option of pairing their dinner with special cocktails for an additional cost.
Apologies for some of the photos. The club was very dark, and the lighting was not the best for taking pictures of food (or people).
Congratulations, Hop and Jason. Every item was well thought out, and the food and event was perfectly executed.
