Unlike LA trucks, there are not too many OC trucks getting launched. Pogiboy is a new filipino truck which I caught up with at Epic Dinner in Fullerton.

Pogiboy signature item is their "Footlong" (or as they say Poot) Pork Lumpia, and I also got a picture of the Crispy Pork Taco.

The OC Fair “LET’S EAT!” THEME (July 15-Aug 14)

2011 OC Fair Brings in Gourmet Food Trucks,
Including Eating Contests, Cooking Demonstrations
& Fair Food vs. Food Truck Chowdowns

Every Thursday from Noon-10 p.m. inside the OC Fair

Costa Mesa, Calif. (June 28, 2011) – The 2011 OC Fair (July 15-August 14) will continue to host its popular weekly Food Truck Fare, featuring gourmet food trucks, eating contests, chef demos and a Chowdown competition as part of this year’s Fair theme, “LET’S EAT!”

Every Thursday from Noon-10 p.m., Fairgoers can taste a variety of cuisines from the rotating 8 gourmet food trucks inside the Fair near the Livestock Area. Trucks will include Baconmania, Piaggio On Wheels, The OC Food Truck, Grilled Cheese Truck, Grill ‘Em All, Dos Chinos, Chunk N Chip and more. Access is free with Fair admission and food prices vary per truck.

Food Truck Fare at the 2011 OC Fair will feature (trucks subject to change):

• Thursday, July 21: Baconmania, Chunk N Chip, Dogzilla, Grilled Cheese Truck, The OC Food Truck, Piaggio On Wheels, The Burnt Truck and White Rabbit
• Thursday, July 28: Baconmania, Dos Chinos, The Greasy Wiener, Lobsta Truck, Ludo Truck, The OC Food Truck, Piaggio On Wheels and White Rabbit
• Thursday, August 4: Baconmania, Dos Chinos, The OC Food Truck, Piaggio On Wheels, SlapFish, The Burnt Truck and White Rabbit
• Thursday, August 11: Baconmania, Dogzilla, Grill ‘Em All, India Jones Chow Truck, The OC Food Truck and Piaggio On Wheels

Also on Thursdays, the Fair will host weekly cooking demonstrations and eating contests in partnership with some of the visiting gourmet food trucks. Held on the Promenade Stage:

In addition, Fair Food vs. Food Truck Chowdowns will be held every Thursday, where a favorite Fair food vendor is pitted against a gourmet food truck and a panel of judges will decide who made it best. These contests will be announced closer to the event date.

The 2011 OC Fair, themed LET’S EAT!, is July 15 – August 14 and will bring 23 days of food, rides, exhibits, animals, music, action sports and fun, as well as the popular Super Pass (season pass), Pacific Amphitheatre Summer Concert Series, The Hangar and Action Sports Arena. The Fair is open Wednesday-Sunday. The OC Fair was ranked the eighth highest attended fair in the U.S. last year by Venues Today magazine.

Whaaat!?! No more Teller Lot in Irvine on Wednesdays?

The Teller Lot in Irvine is one of the most popular lunch spots on Wednesdays. My sister works across the street and sent me this email. Its been modified, but can someone tell me if this is true?? I'm outraged!!

Looks like the trucks will no longer be able to come to the teller lot on Wednesdays.

Well, a bunch of Allergan employees who work off teller (including myself) illegally park there because it's just right across the street from our office, much closer than the parking structure we're supposed to park in which is inside the main campus.

A lady who we see at the wednesday gatherings got greedy and tried to trick us on Monday by placing a note on our windshields, stating that we were no longer able to park here because it's private property (which we all knew to be true). However, if we purchase a monthly parking permit through her for $30, we could continue to park there without being towed next monday.

So, on Wed/Thur, someone set up a tent with a sign that said "parking permit" on the lot. My boss inquired and the lady manning the booth said payment is cash only. Then she added, "oh, i don't have the parking permits available until next month, but if you give me your license plate number, I'll make sure your car is safe."

Naturally, it all seemed rather suspicious, so someone in our company looked further into it and we discovered that she did not represent the real estate developer who owned the lot. When we contacted the real estate developer, they were unaware of the situation and said what that lady did was widely inappropriate.

Consequently, thanks to this lady, the developer told us the trucks will now be forbidden to reside there on wednesdays. In addition, the entrances to the lot will be chained off so that none of us can park there any longer.

We're all so upset that one greedy person can ruin not only our lives, but the lives of the food trucks as well!

I have the lady's e-mail address and phone number in my car in case if you're interested in making her life miserable somehow!!!
