Hawthorne: the Twist Burger

Martin went to the premiere of the new LA truck, Twist Burger. Chef Jorge Rincon is very proud of his sauces, especially paired with the Salchi-papas.

For lunch, Martin ordered the Classic Double Twist combo on flatbread.

Thursdays: Hatchi Truck Stop at Breadbar, Century City

NEW “HATCHI” SERIES PARKS AT BREADBAR | CENTURY CITY STARTING MARCH 31!

The “Hatchi Truck Stop” Event Features Premier Food Truck Chefs Preparing Inspired Dishes the Last Thursday of Every Month

Beginning Thursday, March 31, from 6-10 p.m., and continuing the last Thursday of every month, BREADBAR, along with Chef Noriyuki Sugie, host “Hatchi Truck Stop” at BREADBAR | Century City. Inspired by the popular Hatchi guest chef series, the “truck stop” will feature a different premier Los Angeles food truck each month, offering diners a one-night-only meal of eight inspired small plates priced at $8 each ($32 minimum purchase per guest).

The first guest “gastrotruck” in the series is none other than Food Network’s “The Great Food Truck Race” winner, Grill ‘Em All. Helmed by Chefs Ryan Harkins and Mathew Chernus, who have been allies and band mates for over 20 years, Grill ‘Em All is known for its rock ‘n’ roll attitude backed by a menu featuring awe-inspiring burgers and other delicious comfort foods.

Among the heavy-metal inspired cuisine they will be serving March 31 are Molson Beer and Cheese Soup with Frisée, Lardons, and a Bacon Vinaigrette; “Behemoth Style” Meatballs with BBQ Sauce, Bacon, Smoked Cheddar, and Funyuns Onion Flavored Rings; Duck Confit Poutine with Wisconsin Cheese Curds and Rosemary; Foie Gras and Fig-Stuffed Pierogi with White Truffle Crème Fraîche; and Peanut Butter and Jelly Three Ways-Canapé, Ravioli, and Shot.

To pair with the dishes, Humboldt County’s Lost Coast Brewery will be serving its signature microbrews, which meld traditional English-style ales with the distinctive West Coast flavors of barley, wheat, and Northern California’s exceptionally pure water.

Building on his mission to continually re-imagine the pop-up dining movement in Los Angeles, Sugie will also oversee the invitation of future guest food truck chefs to progressively develop the new series. For more information, call BREADBAR | Century City at 310.277.3770.http://www.breadbar.net/

I picked up the Twice fried chicken & Mac and cheese from Willoughby Road truck.

Karen went to Onolicious for the Moco Loco, and Martin picked up the Bollywood from Great balls OT, and the "Frankie" from India Jones CT.

While standing in line for Tropical Shave Ice (not pictured) we bumped into Sandy, who picked up Chicken Curry from India Jones, and Peas & Carrots ice cream from Phydough.

Before heading home, I also stopped at Phydough Truck for some cookies for my Lulu.

Irvine: Dos Chinos, Flip Truck

My sister Becky is helping me out by being my weekly guest blogger for the Teller lot on Wednesdays and she volunteered to provide a weekly report.

Even though it was supposed to rain, today was a beautiful, sunny day to eat lunch at the Teller lot.

Today's guest trucks were Flip truck, Burnt truck, Rancho A Go Go, and Morsel's Bakery Truck. I’m still not entirely sure who is sponsoring the beautiful picnic tables that line the back, but people were definitely enjoying the fact that they were there.

After spending the last two weeks eating in Italy, I was looking forward to eating at my favorite taco truck, Dos Chinos. The bbq pork and asada taco didn’t disappoint and satisfied both my Asian craving and Mexican cravings that I had at the same time!

My co-worker got the “Killer Combo” at Flip truck: a choice of 2 sliders (Ahi and American Kobe  pictured), a side of fries and a small cupcake.
